There’s nothing like that fresh-from-the-salon feeling. Smooth, bouncy hair that feels light, looks polished, and moves like a dream. But the big question is: how do you keep that magic going past day one?
At Beaudee Salon, our stylists hear this all the time — and the good news is, you can make your blowout last for several days with just a few smart habits and the right products. Here’s how.
1. Start with a Strong Foundation
Your blowout begins before the styling even starts. Using a clarifying shampoo the night before (or the morning of) your appointment removes buildup and creates a clean base.
At Beaudee, we often start blowouts with a custom cleanse and conditioning routine based on your hair type. Ask your stylist what products they’re using so you can recreate the results at home.
2. Avoid Touching Your Hair
It’s tempting to run your fingers through your freshly styled strands, but try to keep your hands off. The oils from your skin can quickly weigh your hair down and flatten the volume.
Instead, if you need to restyle, use a wide-tooth comb or a gentle brush like a boar-bristle paddle to preserve the shape.
3. Sleep Smart
The way you sleep can make or break your blowout.
- Use a silk or satin pillowcase to reduce friction (and frizz)
- Wrap your hair loosely in a scrunchie or silk scarf to help preserve your style
- Try sleeping with your hair in a soft topknot or loose braid to keep body and wave
4. Use Dry Shampoo Strategically
Dry shampoo is your best friend on day 2 and beyond. But don’t wait until your hair looks greasy — use it preventatively before oils set in.
Spray lightly at the roots, let it sit for a minute or two, then massage or brush through. Look for invisible formulas that won’t leave white residue (your stylist can recommend their favorite from our Hair Mini Bar).
5. Avoid Heavy Products
Skip oils, thick creams, or leave-ins after your blowout unless your stylist recommends them. These can weigh hair down or cause buildup. A light, volumizing dry texture spray is often all you need to revive movement without stiffness.
6. Spot-Restyle Only What Needs It
Instead of restyling your whole head, target just the areas that need a touch-up:
- Blow-dry just the crown for volume
- Refresh ends with a curling wand or flat iron (on low heat)
- Pin-curl the front for bounce while you do makeup or get dressed
Small tweaks keep your style intact longer without starting from scratch.
